The Au Pair extension program will run as a pilot for one year beginning February 5, 2004 through February 4, 2005.
The last extensions to be approved through this pilot program will conclude on February 3, 2006.

On approval from the Office of Designation and Exchange Coordination, Department of State, sponsors of an Au Pair Exchange Program may issue a Form DS-2019 to those au pairs intending to extend their participation in this program for an additional six, nine, or twelve months. If the pilot program is deemed successful on conclusion of the pilot year, we will amend the Exchange Visitor Program regulations to make it permanent.Submitting a Request for an Extension

All requests for an extension of an au pair’s program must be made to the Department of State through the sponsoring organization. Requests from host families will not be accepted.
